Milwaukie Bucks guard and former Portland Trail Blazers legend Damian Lillard remains a fan favorite in Oregon nearly two years after his trade.
And despite the perceived drama surrounding the summer of 2023, that feeling is mutual, as Lillard has spoken highly of his time in Portland.
Seemingly reflecting on those days, Lillard shared a post (first shared by another poster/user) of what appears to be his all-time starting five for the Portland Trail Blazers.
PG: Damian Lillard
SG: Brandon Roy
SF: Clyde Drexler
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge
C: Bill Walton

Honestly, no notes (with respect to Rasheed Wallace and Maurice Lucas at the PF spot). pic.twitter.com/Ulcs5bg5Sh— Andrew Nemec (@AndrewNemec) June 20, 2025
Generally speaking, the debate about “the best Trail Blazer” of all-time has centered around the trio of Lillard, Drexler and Walton, so that group is unimpeachable.
At shooting guard, Roy had a stellar five-year career (2006-2011) in Portland cut short by injuries that forced him to retire far earlier than the traditional star.
Roy is an all-time “what if he never got injured”player basketball history, and his career peaked in 2008-2009 when he averaged 22.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
The most heavily-debated spot will likely be power forward.
While Aldridge – a seven-time all-star – is a very reasonable choice, Rasheed Wallace and Maurice Lucas are sure to generate some support from Blazer fans.
Whether Lillard is simply sharing an interesting Blazers photo or endorsing the starting five himself, it’s a topic that is sure to generate debate in the city of Portland.
