Dak Prescott was overlooked coming out of college and fell all the way to the fourth round in the 2016 NFL Draft. But perhaps things worked out for the best as he was chosen by Dallas to be the heir apparent to Tony Romo.
Prescott won the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2016. While his career started on a high note, it has resembled more of a roller coaster. He has made the Pro Bowl three times, but has also had two seasons where he missed at least nine games. Prescott was charged with returning the Cowboys franchise to its Super Bowl-winning glory, but he has struggled to win in the playoffs.
Still, amidst the wave of massive contracts handed out to quarterbacks in the early 2020s, Prescott cashed in. Ahead of Week 1 of the 2024 season, the quarterback was given a massive four-year, $240 million extension, making him the highest-paid quarterback of all time by average annual value at the time.
Here is more on how much Prescott has made in his career.
