A baseball legend will be commemorated at one of the most iconic stadiums of all time this August, when the Cubs host a Greg Maddux bobblehead game against the Orioles at Wrigley Field.
The first 10,000 fans who arrive to the Friendly Confines on the Sunday, August 3rd matinee game will receive the Maddux bobble, which honors the famed 1988 rain delay game in which the four-time Cy Young winner went slip-and-sliding on the Wrigley tarps.

As you might expect, tickets have been flying for this special event. Maddux spent his first seven years in the bigs with the Cubs, making his first two of eight All-Star appearances and winning his first of four Cy Young Awards. He also returned to Chicago to play multiple seasons after his Hall-of-Fame run with the Braves concluded.

Now, the ace returns to Wrigley in bobblehead form. And, oh yeah, there should be quite a game to take in, as well. The Cubs have been one of the best teams in the National League the entire season, led by MVP-candidate outfielders Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker. This club could easily mess around and get back to the World Series for the first time since the franchise ended its 108-year drought in 2016.
