Crystal Palace join four Premier League team chase for relegated star

Crystal Palace have quietly stepped into the transfer race for one of English football’s most talked-about young talents.

The South London club, who have secured UEFA Europa League qualification for 2025/26, believe they can pull off a surprise summer signing via Southampton winger Tyler Dibling.

The Eagles coaching staff, led by Oliver Glasner see the Saints winger as a long-term project and also someone who can contribute to the team immediately, and are ready to offer him regular first-team football.

Palace are not the only side interested in the 19-year-old, with Dibling attracting strong interest from other Premier League clubs, who can also offer European football.

Dibling was one of the few bright spots in Southampton’s dismal 2024/25 campaign and he is also on the radars of Newcastle United, Liverpool and Tottenham.

“There’s been interest from Newcastle and Liverpool, but if he goes to either of those two, it would be as one for the future rather than an immediate first team option,” former Manchester United scout Mick Brown told Football Insider.

Spurs’ link to Dibling has reportedly reduced in recent weeks with Thomas Frank concerned by both the cost and how quickly Dibling can fit into playing regular Premier League football.

Brown added: “Somewhere like Crystal Palace would be a better move for him. They’re being ambitious after qualifying for Europe and want to improve their squad this summer

“So if he’s smart, he’ll look at Palace and what they’ve done with the likes of Eze, Wharton and Olise, and he’ll think he can follow in their footsteps.”

Palace are looking to bring in reinforcements ahead of the new campaign with several current stars expected to move on in the months ahead with Eberechi Eze on Spurs’ radar and Liverpool considering a move for club captain Marc Guehi.
