Cristiano Ronaldo is used to breaking records and stealing headlines, but this time, the spotlight belongs to the next generation.
His 14-year-old son, Cristiano Jr., has earned his first-ever call-up to represent Portugal at the under-15 level — and the proud dad couldn’t hold back his emotions.
Cristiano Jr., who currently plays at the Al-Nassr academy in Saudi Arabia, has taken his first big step toward following in his father’s famous footsteps.
The teen has already spent time in youth teams at Juventus and Manchester United.
Now, he’s set to wear the Portugal shirt in the upcoming Vlatko Markovic International Tournament in Croatia from May 13 to 18.
The call-up quickly made waves online, and Ronaldo, as always, let his feet — or in this case, his fingers — do the talking. Posting on Instagram, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner shared a heartfelt four-word message: “Proud of you, son!”

What Cristiano Ronaldo said on playing alongside his son?
For fans who’ve seen Ronaldo rise from Sporting Lisbon to global superstardom, this news adds a whole new meaning to the phrase “football runs in the blood.”
Cristiano Jr. even has the goal-scoring swagger to match. He once scored a header for Al-Nassr that was so Ronaldo-like, fans had to do a double take.
Still, CR7 has been clear that his son’s path should be his own. “He’s 14 years old, he has pressure already to be the son of Cristiano,” he said last year.
“Let him do his own mistakes… I hope that in the future he can be a professional player.”
The veteran forward also offered advice that could be pinned in every young footballer’s locker: “Believe, listen to coaches, work hard, don’t sleep late.”
And if you’re wondering whether father and son could someday share the same pitch, Ronaldo smiled: “I would like it… We’ll see.”
