The Dallas Cowboys have a very important offseason ahead of them after missing the playoffs. Their offense struggled after having an inconsistent running game and losing Dak Prescott. They could bring in a new playmaker to get back on track. Tyreek Hill expressed his desire to leave the Miami Dolphins after their week 18 loss and elimination from the playoffs.
“I gotta do what’s best for me and my family,” Hill told reporters after the game. “If that’s here or that’s wherever the case may be, I’m opening the door. I’m out bro. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I got to what’s best for my career. I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.”
USA Today’s Jacob Camenker named the Cowboys as a team that should trade for Hill.
“The Cowboys may not seem like an obvious landing spot for Hill, but the idea of pairing him with CeeDee Lamb could intrigue Jerry Jones,” wrote Camenker. “At the very least, star edge rusher Micah Parsons likes the idea of playing with Hill and posted about the possibility on X (formerly Twitter).”
Parsons tried recruiting Hill to the Cowboys on X after the news.
“(Cheetah) we can be the fastest duo in the league!!! we also don’t have state income taxes!,” Parsons wrote on X.
Hill signed a three-year, $90 million extension in 2024. He would not be a cheap addition, but the Cowboys would instantly have the best pass-catching duo in the league if they paired Hill with Lamb. The threat of both would also help the Cowboys open up their ruyn game as teams would try to slow down their passing attack.
“Of course, it’s worth remembering Dallas has just under $17.1 million in cap space for next season and also needs to work out an extension with Parsons. As such, fitting Hill onto their roster wouldn’t be easy unless they restructure his deal and potentially Dak Prescott’s record-breaking one.”
Adding Hill would not be easy and would require a blockbuster trade. Does Jerry Jones have it in him to make this type of deal?
