The Dallas Cowboys have sent shock waves across the NFL when they announced they have traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league.
It was thought by many that Parsons would remain with the Cowboys despite the ongoing feud between him and owner Jerry Jones.
But rumors started heating up the past few days that the team was interested in a trade, and the name that kept popping up was the Green Bay Packers. And on Thursday, the blockbuster trade was made.
Reactions from fans and players are slowly coming in, and one in particular has to be one of the saddest, and that’s from Parsons’ good friend, Trevon Diggs.
Diggs posted a heartbroken emoji on X.
Diggs has insisted that Parsons wanted to remain in Dallas because that’s where his heart was and that he considers the Cowboys his family.
Wide receiver KaVontae Turpin said on his X post: “Yeah, this league sh*t crazy” lol
Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown is also upset with the trade and posted a GIF of a sick animal on his timeline after hearing of the news.
Naturally, the Cowboy players aren’t happy that one of their own has been traded.
It also has to be especially heartbreaking after Parsons posted how much he still loved Dallas and wanted to remain with the team.
“I never wanted this chapter to end, but not everything was in my control. My heart has always been here and still is.
This is a sad day, but not a bitter one. I’ll never forget the joy of draft night, the adrenaline of running out of the tunnel, or the brotherhood I shared with my teammates, coaches and the staff who prepared me every single game. Those memories are mine forever.
Thank you, Cowboy Nation, for every cheer, every moment, and every ounce of love you showed me. Wearing the star was the honor of my life.”
The Cowboys will face the Packers on September 28th.
