This isn’t ideal.
Dallas Cowboys superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons sounds legitimately doubtful about getting a record-setting contract extension done.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, these were Parsons’ somber words:
“If this is the end, this is the end.”
Parsons went on to say, “I understand the nature of the business.”
The business, though, generally pays guys like Parsons. Just this offseason, T.J. Watt, Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby have gotten paid, and they’re all older than Parsons.
Someone is going to give Parsons the richest contract a non-QB has ever gotten in the history of the NFL.
Most of the way here, it’s been assumed that’d be Dallas.

But ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported this week that the Cowboys haven’t even made Parsons an official offer.
It’s a very odd situation, and one that could end way sooner than anyone expected.
Parsons has played four seasons for the Cowboys and has at least a dozen sacks in each one. He’s one of the best defensive players on the planet.
But on Tuesday, he didn’t sound confident. He sounded like a guy who maybe, just maybe, sees the end in sight sooner than anyone thought.
