Cowboys’ latest acquisition comes with a bold promise

Defensive tackle Kenny Clark unexpectedly grabbed headlines on Thursday when he became part of the blockbuster trade between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers involving Micah Parsons. Clark was a bit stunned by the move. However, he’s excitedly gearing up for the 2025 season with Dallas and has already made a bold promise to Cowboys fans.

Do you know what Clark promised on Friday during his first media appearance as a Cowboy? Simply put: the Super Bowl.

“It’s a historic franchise, I wouldn’t want no other thing other than to be sitting here,” Clark said. I’ve got a chance to win a Super Bowl here and that’s all I could ask for. That’s what I want to do, I want to bring a Super Bowl back to the Cowboys.”

The defensive tackle spent his nine-year NFL career with the Packers and is a three-time Pro Bowler. Reflecting on the trade, Clark admitted he was “shocked” but felt valued after calls from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, coach Brian Schottenheimer and others.

“Once Jerry and all those guys called me, Schotty and everybody, I just felt wanted. It’s a blessing, I’m appreciative of it,” Clark said.

Clark is known for his fierce style on the field. He described himself as “a dawg, somebody that’s just all about football. I’m here to ball. I feel like when I’m my best self, there’s nobody messing with me.”

The Cowboys last won the Super Bowl in 1996. What Clark promised is something many top players haven’t been able to deliver over the past two decades. Fans worry that trading Micah Parsons has hurt the team’s chances of being a Super Bowl contender. Now, it’s up to Kenny Clark to change that narrative. And that’s no small task.
