The Green Bay Packers have pulled it off — trading for Micah Parsons and prying him out of the Cowboys’ hands. The saga between Parsons and the Cowboys has finally come to an end, but this has been a long time coming — especially with team owner Jerry Jones attempting to negotiate a deal without involving Parsons’ agent.
“The fact that Jerry Jones and the Cowboys believe they can negotiate a 9-figure extension with Micah Parsons without involving his agent says everything about the current state of the franchise. This entire situation is laughable from the Dallas side. It could’ve — and should’ve — been avoided. But instead, the Cowboys’ operated with pure arrogance, foolishness and stubbornness,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz posted.
However, the trade isn’t official yet, as both players involved must pass their physicals.
“This trade is still pending physicals. Micah Parsons might have a back injury? Kenny Clark has a surgically repaired foot. Can you imagine?” posted Packers Wire’s Zach Kruse.
Clark is coming off an injury that required foot surgery in January — an issue that bothered him throughout last season.
“It was a tough year for me,” Clark said. “I had surgery on my foot in January, so yeah, it was a tough year. But I’m excited. I’m back out practicing, back doing [individual drills], so today was my second day doing indy with the team, and just have to keep building forward.”

Still, Jerry Jones may yet have the last laugh — if he chooses to be petty. There’s speculation that Jones could purposefully fail Clark’s physical, which would nullify the deal.
“Not worried about Micah but what if…Jerry caved to fan reaction, failed Kenny’s physical and blew up the trade,” Kruse posted.
While it may seem like a harsh or underhanded move, nothing can be ruled out when it comes to Jones. Throughout this entire process, he has been a thorn in everyone’s side — from trying to sidestep Parsons’ agent to repeatedly mispronouncing Parsons’ name. If Kenny Clark fails his physical, there’s a real chance it could be Jones making a statement — not just to the Packers, but to Micah Parsons himself.
