The Seattle Seahawks finally added to the wide receiver room in free agency, as the team signed former Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp to a three-year deal worth $45 million, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Kupp will serve as the No. 2 wide receiver in Seattle’s offense opposite Jaxon Smith-Njigba and will be a nice security blanket for quarterback Sam Darnold, who also signed with the Seahawks in this year’s free agency cycle.
Joining the Seahawks is a homecoming for Kupp, as the 31-year-old grew up in Yakima, Washington, which is just a few hours away from Seattle. Kupp also played football at Eastern Washington University and went from a small school wide receiver to an NFL star.
Kupp returning to Washington is an awesome storyline, and the 2021 first-team All-Pro selection went to X to confirm the news about his move back home.
“Washington back across my chest. Let’s go!!!!!” Kupp tweeted after signing with the Seahawks on Friday.

Seattle has completely revamped the wide receiver room this offseason, as the team cut Tyler Lockett on Mar. 5 and also traded DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Mar. 9.
Though Kupp isn’t an elite receiver and has struggled to stay healthy recently, the former third-round pick is still a savvy route runner who will give the Seahawks fantastic production as the No. 2 pass-catching option.
