Terry McLaurin wants to get paid.
But with the Washington Commanders set to take part in their first training camp practice on Wednesday, the star wide receiver hasn’t gotten a new contract yet.
We do have a better idea of what McLaurin is seeking, though.
The Athletic’s veteran reporter David Aldridge shared this nugget in a new article Tuesday evening:
“(A deal) would mean, having asked a person or two in the know, paying McLaurin a few dollars more than DK Metcalf, the now-Pittsburgh Steelers receiver who got a four-year extension for nearly $132 million this spring after being acquired from the Seattle Seahawks.”

Metcalf and McLaurin were part of the same draft class, with Metcalf going a dozen picks before McLaurin out of Ole Miss and Ohio State, respectively.
The official salary on Metcalf’s four-year deal over four years: $131,999,529. It’s an average of $32,999,882 per year.
Metcalf is the fourth-highest paid WR in football, behind Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson and CeeDee Lamb, and just ahead of the newly extended Garrett Wilson (five years, $130 million).
McLaurin is well within his reasoning to pursue a deal in that dollar range.
But it doesn’t look like the Commanders are ready to budge quite yet.
