The Indianapolis Colts pass rush has looked less than impressive to begin the 2025 season. Only one defensive lineman, Samson Ebukam, has recorded a sack through two games.
Their lack of pass rush has raised some questions over whether or not defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo’s scheme will get the most out of a deep and talented group. As a result, pressure is building to find a way to impact the quarterback and win the line of scrimmage.
With the Tennessee Titans next up on the schedule this Sunday, Indy received some injury updates which favor their defensive front.
Internally, head coach Shane Steichen did not rule any players out for Sunday, according to James Boyd of The Athletic. Meaning that starting defensive end Laiatu Latu, who missed last week’s 29-28 win over the Denver Broncos, is in line to make his return.
To give Indianapolis a further advantage, the Titans have ruled right tackle JC Latham out with a hip injury, according to Jim Wyatt.
The combination of Latu’s reinsertion to the lineup plus Latham being on the sideline suggests an early recipe for success. The Colts will have to be able to put pressure on rookie quarterback Cam Ward in order to limit his effectiveness, and the early indications reveal that they have a leg up.
