Kemoko Turay’s first season in the CFL just took a rough turn.
He received a one-game suspension from the Canadian Football League for inciting a postgame brawl after the BC Lions’ 21-20 win over the Montreal Alouettes.
Turay was a second-round pick in the NFL Draft in 2018 by the Indianapolis Colts.
He was the only player the CFL suspended. Three other players were fined.
“Non-football acts negatively impact the reputation and professional standing of the CFL and they will not be tolerated,” CFL Commissioner Stewart Johnston said in a statement. “These actions do not reflect the values of our league. The post-game altercation in Montreal became an unnecessary focal point, taking away from an incredibly entertaining game won on the final play.”

Turay last played in the NFL in 2022. He spent four seasons with the Colts and then played a season with the 49ers.
He was a collegiate star at Rutgers.
In his NFL career, Turay was a situational pass-rusher. Despite limited snaps, he had 12.0 career sacks.
Now he’ll have to work to build his image back up in the CFL after a game away.
