Colin Cowherd makes stunning claims about Nick Saban and the Cleveland Browns

Since former Alabama quarterback and ESPN college football analyst Greg McElroy made claims that former head coach Nick Saban will make a return to football, it’s been the talk of the football world.

But according to Fox Sports, Colin Cowherd, the Saban rumor is the worst-kept secret in sports right now. In fact, Cowherd is still pushing the theory that the Browns plan to bring Saban in and draft Arch Manning out of Texas next season.

“The worst kept secret in the south is that Jimmy Haslam (Browns owner)leans heavily on the Manning family. Arch Manning is part of the family. Nick Saban is close to Haslam and the Mannings,” Cowherd said during his Wednesday show. “If Saban could land a top 10, he would take a phone call from the NFL. Two teams are guaranteed to be awful in the NFL, the Browns and Saints. Saban coached in Cleveland and at LSU.  The Mannings are royalty in New Orleans, and the Mannings are royalty to Haslam, who loves headlines. This is not a conspiracy theory.”

The problem with this theory is, first of all, there is no guarantee that Manning is coming out of Texas next year, and second, why would he want to play for the Browns?

Another factor: what if Colorado QB Shedur Sanders is successful? The Browns did draft him this year, and he could turn out to be their quarterback of the future.

Cowherd is pushing this strange theory without really any proof, especially no proof that Saban is even coming back to coach, and if he does come back, he’ll be 75 years old next year.

How much coaching does Saban want to do at that age, especially being one more year closer to 80? This all boils down to what Nick Saban wants to do and so far, he hasn’t given his answer to that question.
