Club World Cup 2029: Four teams confirmed ahead of Chelsea vs PSG final

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has reached its final stage with Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea set to fight each other to lift the trophy on July 13.

Chelsea booked their spot in the final by defeating Brazilian side Fluminense 2-0 this week, while PSG bagged a 4-0 victory over Real Madrid to reach the same.

Now, ahead of the final on Sunday, it appears that the plans for the 2029 Club World Cup are already on the way.

The competition is held every four years, and teams qualify according to their achievements over that duration. The 2029 Club World Cup will also have 32 teams, consisting of 12 UEFA slots, six CONMEBOL slots, four AFC slots, four CAF slots, four CONCACAF slots, one OFC slot, and one slot for the host nation.

The host country for the next edition is yet to be announced.

Which teams have already qualified for the 2029 Club World Cup?

While this year’s final is yet to take place, four teams have already secured their spot for the 2029 Club World Cup.

First on that list is the current edition’s finalist, PSG, for winning the 2024/25 Champions League.

Mexican club Cruz Azul are on the roster for the 2029 Club World Cup on the basis of winning the 2025 CONCACAF Champions Cup.

The Egyptian team, Pyramids, have earned their place in the upcoming edition by winning the 2024/25 CAF Champions League.

Lastly, Saudi club Al Ahli have claimed their spot by bagging the 2024/25 AFC Champions League Elite title.

The rest of the 28 teams that will make it to the 2029 Club World Cup will be decided over the upcoming years leading up to the competition.

The current spotlight is on the 2025 Club World Cup final between PSG and Chelsea, who have faced each other on eight occasions in the past.

The French side have bagged three victories while the Premier League giants have managed two wins, and the remaining three games have ended in a draw.
