Chelsea willing to offer two outcasts in exchange for Real Madrid star

Despite already landing star names including Estevao Willian and Jamie Gittens in the summer transfer window, Chelsea are reportedly interested in another winger in the coming weeks.

As the rumour mill continues to spin, defending Premier League champions Liverpool are leading the race for Rodrygo, but the Blues are also interested in signing the 24-year-old.

Rodrygo made over 50 appearances for Real Madrid last season, scoring 14 goals, but his long-term place in Xabi Alonso’s plans is unclear.

However, Rodrygo completing a possible move to Chelsea in the current transfer window is dependent on sales, with Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix tipped to depart..

According to Real Madrid Confidential, Chelsea are willing to hand both Nkunku and Felix to Real Madrid as part of a potential swap deal, with cash also added

However, there are doubts as to whether the Spanish club would be interested in doing such a deal, with neither player featuring regularly in the last 12 months at Chelsea.

Why Rodrygo to Chelsea is complicated

Nkunku and Felix have been heavily linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge, especially the latter, who is not part of Enzo Maresca‘s set up.

Felix has been backed to make a possible return to Benfica, which would remove him from a Rodrygo deal, with Nkunku attracting interest from Ligue 1 and Serie A.

A lot of things need to happen for Rodrygo to end up in west London, but a transfer to Chelsea is not impossible.

While the Brazil international is on the radar of several top clubs, the above report claims he has not made a decision on his future yet, with fresh talks with Alonso planned.

That is good news for Chelsea, who may be able to convince Rodrygo to join them before the transfer market closes. Agreeing a deal with Real Madrid and meeting the player’s wage demands could prove tricky, though.
