Just a few short weeks ago, Chelsea were pushing to be in this season’s Premier League title race while Wolverhampton Wanderers were looking like certs to steer away from a relegation battle.

After some wobbles for both, however, a handful of good results is required for each of those statements to ring true once more. And during the next EPL matchday, only one can get three points at the expense of the other.

Chelsea vs. Wolves lineups, starting 11, team news

Chelsea head coach Maresca confirmed on Friday that Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, Levi Colwill and Romeo Lavia are all being watched carefully by club staff as they bid to shake off knocks from the midweek draw against Bournemouth.

As of Friday, the Italian was optimistic that the Monday night scheduling of the game gave all four the chance to be fit to start.

Meanwhile four other players are definitely out with injuries for the foreseeable future: Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Omari Kellyman.

Mykhailo Mudryk also remains suspended following an adverse finding in a routine doping test last month.

The big team news for the visitors is that their top attacking threat Matheus Cunha may miss the game at Stamford Bridge due to illness.

Head coach Vitor Pereira told the press on Friday that “Cunha was out of training today because he has the flu. I hope tomorrow he will train, if he is then he has the possibility to play the next game.”

Yerson Mosquera, Enso Gonzalez and Sasa Kalajdzic all definitely remain out with knee injuries, while Pereira said Chelsea will be too soon for Boubacar Traore and Toti Gomez to return.

Wolves predicted starting lineup (3-4-2-1, right to left): Sa (GK) — Doherty, Bueno, Agbadou — ; R. Gomes, Andre, R. Gomes, Ait-Nouri Guedes, Hwang; Strand Larsen.
