Chelsea suffer fresh injury blow as club changes transfer stance

Chelsea recorded a 2-0 win in a controversial game against Fulham without Cole Palmer.

Palmer missed his second straight game after suffering a groin injury in warmups against West Ham.

The youngster Estevao came in for Palmer again, and Liam Delap also got the nod at striker.

After just over 10 minutes, Delap pulled up with a hamstring issue and was forced off the pitch.

Enzo Maresca has just confirmed Chelsea’s worst fears over Delap’s injury.

How long will Chelsea be without Delap?

Speaking after the match, Maresca said, “Delap is expected to be out for six to eight weeks because of this type of injury.

Liam’s injury doesn’t look good. He was full speed, and it’s a hamstring.”

Chelsea finalized a deal for Christopher Nkunku to join AC Milan, and Nicolas Jackson looked set to be leaving for Bayern.

With Delap’s injury, Jackson’s deal could be off, according to Sky Sports, as Chelsea would be down to just Joao Pedro at striker.

Maresca continued, “It requires weeks, then in terms of another striker, I’ve just finished the game. Now, after, we’ll see and take a decision.

Two strikers is enough, but when one is out, it’s not. We tried to use a different solution with George.”
