Chelsea and Real Madrid are no strangers to doing business with each other, and that trend could be set to continue in the upcoming summer transfer window.
While Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez have had a strong season for the Blues and are considered untouchable by Enzo Maresca, one of the quartet is apparently unhappy and is reportedly eyeing a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Last month, Fabrizio Romano posted an update on Fernandez’s future, sharing that the midfielder’s full focus is on Chelsea.
However, since then, a report from Spanish outlet Defensa Central has emerged, claiming that Fernandez is “unhappy” in west London.
According to the report, his representatives have now “offered” him to Real Madrid and playing for Los Blancos is something that the 24-year-old wants to do.
More worryingly for Chelsea, Real Madrid are also keen on signing Fernandez and have a plan in place to sign him this summer.
It is interesting to note that Fernandez has been putting in professional displays for the club throughout the season and has also scored a few crucial goals for the Blues so far.
Though the report claims that he is unhappy at the club, there is no evidence of it on the pitch as he continues to put in consistent displays for the club.
How Real Madrid plan to sign Enzo Fernandez this summer
It is believed that Real Madrid want Fernandez to push for a move, just like Thibaut Courtois did when he left Stamford Bridge for the Santiago Bernabeu in 2018.
But fortunately for Chelsea, unlike Courtois, who had entered the final year of his contract, Fernandez still has plenty of time left on his deal.
The Argentine international’s contract does not expire until 2032, meaning that the Blues are not under any pressure to sell him this summer.
