Chelsea are on the lookout for a new attacker to bolster their forward line in the upcoming summer transfer window. To that end, the Blues are set to launch a sensational bid to try and sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid.
The Brazilian is reportedly unhappy with life in Madrid after falling down the pecking order in Real Madrid’s attack.
According to a report by AS, Rodrygo is in a ‘complicated moment’ and already ‘has one foot out of Madrid’. He wants to wait for Xabi Alonso to officially join the club before he decides what to do with his future.
A report by Goal also adds that Chelsea are closely monitoring Rodrygo’s situation in the Spanish capital and are considering a bid to sign the striker once the summer transfer window opens.
The Blues are yet to initiate talks with Los Blancos, but are already in touch with the 24-year-old’s representatives.
While Rodrygo is a quality forward and it is understandable why Chelsea would like to add him to the squad, he currently has a contract with Madrid that runs until 2028, which means that the Premier League giants will have to shell out a substantial amount in transfer fees to sign the forward.

More importantly, Chelsea might have to sell some of their players to fund the move for Rodrygo. For instance, Christopher Nkunku is one Chelsea star who has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, and the club might need to wait until his transfer is completed to then reinvest the money in the deal for Rodrygo.
