Chelsea plans summer exit for Nicolas Jackson after Club World Cup red card

Chelsea may be ready to show Nicolas Jackson the exit door after a rash red card at the Club World Cup added more fuel to his fiery season.

The forward, already under pressure for inconsistent form, may have kicked his last ball in blue after testing the patience of manager Enzo Maresca once too often.

Jackson, 24, saw red just four minutes after coming off the bench against Flamengo. His late challenge didn’t just hurt Chelsea’s chances in the game — it may have also hurt his future at the club.

The Blues fell to a 3–1 defeat, and frustration seems to be growing inside the camp.

This wasn’t a one-off. The sending off was Jackson’s second in under two months, with his earlier red card coming against Newcastle for violent conduct.

That incident reportedly ended without even an apology from the striker to his teammates.

Clubs interested in signing Jackson

Reports (via Gianluca Di Marzio) suggest Chelsea are now seriously weighing up a summer sale. Jackson has drawn attention from Italian heavyweights Juventus and Napoli, both of whom are keeping close tabs.

Juventus are considering him as they look to refresh their attack, while Napoli are exploring backup options in case deals for Darwin Nunez or Lorenzo Lucca fall through.

As Chelsea look to rebuild striker options under Maresca, Jackson’s name may not be on the whiteboard much longer.

The club has already secured Liam Delap as a possible long-term option up front, and with more names linked, Jackson could be slipping down the pecking order.

Sources claim, “Chelsea are no longer treating Jackson as untouchable,” as Juve explore a move and Napoli remain in the conversation.

Jackson is suspended for Chelsea’s final Club World Cup group game, which now becomes a must-win. But whether he plays again after that is up in the air — he might already be on borrowed time in west London.
