Chelsea outcast considered to join Premier League rivals on deadline day

The transfer window drama took another twist as Raheem Sterling’s name popped up on deadline day. The Chelsea winger, frozen out under Enzo Maresca, is now reportedly being lined up by Fulham.

With hours left before the market shuts, the Cottagers are weighing their options.

Sterling has endured a tough spell in recent years. After being shipped out on loan to Arsenal last season, he struggled for minutes under Mikel Arteta.

Seven Premier League starts, one goal, and plenty of time on the bench summed up his year.

Unsurprisingly, Arsenal passed on a permanent deal, leaving Sterling back at Chelsea — but only as part of the unwanted group nicknamed the “Bomb Squad.”

Fulham push for late reinforcements

Marco Silva’s side have been quiet this summer, with only goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte joining the squad.

Fulham have chased Shakhtar Donetsk’s Kevin in what would be a club-record deal, while AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze has also been discussed. But with no agreement in place, Sterling has re-entered the picture.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed: “EXCL: Fulham revive Raheem Sterling as talks continue also for Kevin (no agreement with the player) and Samu Chukwueze. Sterling, option considered by Fulham today.”

The 30-year-old may not be the player he once was at Manchester City, but his experience could give Fulham fresh options in attack.

Silva is believed to be pushing hard for signings before the deadline, especially after losing Andreas Pereira to Palmeiras earlier this summer.

If Fulham pass on Sterling, he faces the prospect of staying at Chelsea until January. That would mean more time training alone, with little chance of breaking into Maresca’s plans.

For Sterling, this deadline day may decide whether his career sparks back to life — or remains stuck on the sidelines.
