Chelsea ‘not willing’ to match high fee for FC Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez

FC Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez is linked to a move to Chelsea FC in the Premier League. Many reports suggest that Chelsea will plan to place a bid for the player if the Spanish midfielder reveals that he is open to the move.

Lopez is seen as an important player for FC Barcelona, and his manager, Hansi Flick, wants the player to stay. Lopez himself reportedly does not want to leave the club, but new reports suggest that he could be persuaded.

Sport reports that Lopez may be convinced to join Chelsea as the English club will offer a major salary boost, an important role in the team, and minutes that could lead him to the Spain World Cup roster next year.

FC Barcelona is reportedly willing to sell the player if Lopez accepts, but according to Mundo Deportivo, the Spanish club wants a fee near 70 million euros. Even if Lopez agrees to join Chelsea, the English club does not want to pay that fee.

Chelsea’s Offer for FC Barcelona

Guillem Balague reports that Chelsea does not want to pay 58 million euros for Fermin Lopez. The report suggests that Chelsea does not want to spend a lot of money on the Barcelona player, as they are also linked to other players.

David Ornstein reports that a deal that Chelsea is willing to agree with Barcelona for Fermin Lopez is around 50 million euros. The club has yet to make contact with Barcelona for the midfielder.

Lopez is set to decide his future tomorrow, as Chelsea reportedly set a time limit of 48 hours yesterday. Lopez is considering the move to Chelsea despite his wish to stay at Barcelona. The deadline day for the summer transfer window is September 1.
