Chelsea returned from the United States as newly crowned FIFA Club World Cup champions, celebrating a dominant campaign that concluded with a win over PSG.
The win was backed by smart recruitment too with Chelsea signing several highly-rated youngsters including Joao Pedro from Brighton and Dario Essugo from Sporting Lisbon.
The club has also secured the arrivals of Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, Mamadou Sarr, Estevao and Kendry Paez to strengthen key areas across the pitch with players who could grow into stars.
Despite all this, Enzo Maresca still wants more and has been quietly pushing for a technically gifted attacking player who can become the creative spark in the final third and raise the ceiling of this young Chelsea side.
The Blues made their move for that player recently but without any success.
Juventus turn down Chelsea’s offer for key star
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea made a formal approach to Juventus to sign Kenan Yildiz with an offer worth between around £56 million to £59 million [$75-79m]

The Turkish International is highly rated by the Blues manager, who sees big potential in him with club hoping the chance to play Premier League football at Stamford Bridge would convince him to make the move.
But Juventus quickly turned down the approach and made it clear that Yildiz is not for sale
Yildiz, who joined Juventus from Bayern Munich’s youth setup has impressed at Turin and exploded into prominence last season with 12 goals and 9 assists across all competitions.
Juventus view him an important player in the club rebuild and are even preparing a new contract that will tie him down until 2030.
His salary is also expected to be increased from €1.5 million to €4 million [$1.7- 4.7m] per season, making him one of the highest-paid players in the squad.
