Chelsea have one of the biggest squads in the Premier League at the moment, and keeping every player happy is not easy.
But even by those standards, some would say that they have wronged one of the wonderkids on their books, even before he has kicked a ball for the club.
Kendry Paez joined the Blues amid much fanfare from an Ecuadorian club and was asked to move to Europe and begin training early so that he could get used to the physicality that awaits him in the Premier League.
He spent a considerable amount of time working with BlueCo sister club Strasbourg, and the intention seemed that Paez would be loaned to Strasbourg for the 2025/26 season.
However, all through, Paez had one eye on the FIFA Club World Cup, where he was set to get the chance to announce himself to his new fans in the United States.
Those plans have now changed, though. Journalist Ben Jacobs has stated that the Blues are set to leave him out of the travelling squad, a decision which has left the player disappointed.

What Ben Jacobs had to say about the Kendry Paez situation at Chelsea
He said, “The Situation with Kendry Paez has changed. The player was expecting to go to the Club World Cup last week and then have his future decided. Chelsea have determined he is not part of their squad, with a Strasbourg loan anticipated. Paez understood to be disappointed as summer plans were altered.”
“Strasbourg loan always a strong possibility, and it is Chelsea’s intent now. Still needs to be fully finalised with the player side, but not likely to be an issue as Paez has already spent some time training with Liam Rosenior’s side.”
