Chelsea are leaving no stone unturned in their attempts to strengthen their squad ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup, which starts next week in the USA.
The Blues have already signed Liam Delap from Ipswich Town last week, and have now turned their attention to signing a wide player for the team.
Enzo Maresca’s team has been heavily linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.
But according to a report by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have now set a deadline of Tuesday 7 PM UK time to try and sign the English international.
If they fail to secure Gittens’ signature by then, Chelsea are expected to turn their attention to another target.

Who could Chelsea sign in place of Jamie Gittens?
According to Fabrizio Romano, speaking to DAZN, Chelsea remain firmly interested in Alejandro Garnacho, and could return to that table if Gittens does not sign on Tuesday.
He said: “It’s a possibility, because as we say Garnacho will leave Manchester United, he will go, that’s for sure. I keep receiving information that Garnacho’s priority is to stay in the Premier League.”
“I give a 35% chance of this today, because for the Club World Cup I don’t see this happen, the priority is Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, but Garnacho remains a player appreciated by Chelsea.”
