Celtics unveil official roster for Summer League in Vegas

The Boston Celtics have unveiled their official 2025 Summer League roster ahead of their Las Vegas showcase this month.

The group is of course toplined by rookie first round pick Hugo Gonzalez of Real Madrid.

The 6-foot-6 guard, 19, averaged 5.2 points on .444/.271/.773 shooting splits, 2.5 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.5 steals in 29 healthy Liga ACB games last season (14.2 minutes per).

Gonzalez will be joined by second-year players Baylor Scheierman and Jordan Walsh. Beyond these confirmed 2025-26 standard roster players, both of Boston’s rookie second round selections — Kentucky center Amari Williams and VCU guard Max Shulga — will also be part of the Summer League squad’s 14-man team.

Former Phoenix Suns two-way forward Jalen Bridges is another intriguing name on the team. Undrafted free agent UC San Diego guard Hayden Gray — the NCAA’s steals leader in 2024-25 — and journeyman NBA forward Kenneth Lofton Jr. are two other “big” names (relatively speaking) on this year’s offseason squad.

They’ll be joined by undrafted rookie St. John’s guard Aaron Scott and undrafted rookie forwards Ben Gregg of Gonzaga and Zach Hicks of Penn State.

Former Baylor forward Kendall Brown and former Miami guard Isaiah Wong round out the roster.

The 6-foot-7 Brown split his first two pro seasons, 2022-24, between the Indiana Pacers and their NBAGL affiliate, the Fort Wayne/Indiana Mad Ants, and has been on the Long Island Nets — Brooklyn’s NBAGL affiliate — since last season.

Wong, a 6-foot-3 combo guard, was a teammate to Brown on the Pacers and Mad Ants during the 2023-24 season. Wong has since bounced around the Utah Jazz’s G League club, the Salt Lake City Stars, the Charlotte Hornets and their NBAGL team the Greensboro Swarm, and Lithuanian club Žalgiris Kaunas.

Assistant Celtics coach Matt Reynolds will serve as the Summer League team’s head coach.

Technically, all three of the Celtics’ two-way roster slots are unoccupied, although it seems likely that Williams and Shulga will be inked to two of them.
