Celtics trade proposal sends Jaylen Brown to East rival for rising star, haul of picks

The Boston Celtics have been one of the best teams in the league over the past few seasons, but it might time for them to go for a full teardown.

Over the past couple of months, Celtics fans have been preparing themselves for a season of misery, at least compared to what they’ve grown accustomed to over the past decade. Typically, the Celtics have been one of the league’s top teams, but with Jayson Tatum’s torn Achilles, they won’t be competing for a championship next season.

Along with Tatum’s crushing absence, the Celtics have already made some significant moves this offseason, sending out Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis for financial reasons. Considering Boston won’t be in the mix for a title next season, and there’s no guarantee that changes when Tatum returns, it might be in the market for a major shakeup.

Jaylen Brown on the move?

Although the Celtics have been adamant about not trading Brown this summer, the right price might give them reason to rethink their position. In a recent article from Fantasy Sports on SI’s Ethen Hutton, he came up with a solution for the Celtics.

Celtics receive: Jalen Suggs, Jonathan Isaac, three first-round picks, one second-round pick

Magic receive: Jaylen Brown

Although the Celtics certainly wouldn’t be getting immediate return in value on the floor, they would be getting a nice haul of draft capital and the opportunity to develop Jalen Suggs. Although it might not be a perfect deal for the Celtics, adding a young player, a versatile role player and a load of picks could be the ideal return if they send out Brown at any point.
