Celtic vs. Rangers prediction, odds, betting tips and best bets for Old Firm derby in Scottish League Cup final

The second Old Firm derby of the season marks just the third time Celtic and Rangers have met in the Scottish League Cup final in the last 14 years as the two heated rivals clash at Hampden Park on Sunday.

Celtic hold a nine-point lead in the Scottish league table and are in pole position to eye a domestic double, but would have to get past Rangers, who they trounced 3-0 in league play earlier this season.

Rangers are looking for revenge from that humbling affair, but have not won at Hampden Park since the April 2022 meeting in the FA Cup semifinal.

Celtic vs. Rangers prediction, odds

  • Moneyline lean: Celtic (-150 on BetMGM)
  • Score prediction: Celtic 3-1 Rangers

These two teams are usually far and away the two best teams in the Scottish pyramid, but Rangers are much closer to the pack this year, sitting third in the league table amongst the pack while Celtic run away with the title.

While the first meeting between these two teams was far less lopsided than the 3-0 scoreline suggests, there was still a clear winner, and that should be the case this time around, even if the margin of victory is a little less cavernous.

Celtic vs. Rangers best bet

  • Pick: Celtic to win and both to score
  • Odds: +220 (BetMGM)

While neither of these selections are of particular value on their own, both at -150, together they present a great opportunity to cash in. Rangers weren’t able to score against Celtic last time they faced but created enough opportunities to give themselves a great chance.

Rangers have enough attacking talent in Marcus Tavernier, Vaclav Cerny, and Hamza Igamane to get through Celtic, with all three having contributed good quality up front in the midweek game against Spurs.

Celtic vs. Rangers prop bet

  • Pick: Kyogo Furuhashi anytime goal scorer
  • Odds: +140 (BetMGM)

Kyogo Furuhashi has not only been great this season up front for Celtic, but he’s been a star performer in recent Old Firm history.

The Japan international has scored in five of his last six regular season league games against Rangers, with six goals in that span, and scored a brace against Rangers in their last League Cup final meeting. An in-form player against one of his favorite opponents is an obvious play.
