With six touchdowns and 685 yards from 43 receptions, Pickens leads the Cowboys in all of those categories, and while his personal form has been something to marvel at, so too has been his relationship with CeeDee Lamb.
The pair have hit the ground running since George was traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers, with their chemistry and friendship stealing the show all over the offseason.
But Pickens is in the final year of his deal, and given how he’s played this season, a decision has to be made by Dallas’ front office on whether or not it wants Pickens back beyond 2025.
And Lamb has made his feelings on that quite clear.
“Yeah, I absolutely want him to come back,” Lamb said. “That’s my guy. That’s my man. I feel like we’ve grown this bond in a matter of minutes, honestly. I understand him. He understands me as a competitor. I know what he is on the field. I know what he is off the field. And I feel like we just click.
“I want the best for him. Obviously, making the most money in the NFL at the position or whatever that looks like. But I do want him to win.”

Pickens should be extended by Cowboys
The offense has been one of the best in football through the first two months of the season, and yes, there have been blips here and there, but Pickens has been a shining light for the Cowboys.
The highlight reel catches, the chemistry he has with the locker room, and perhaps the biggest feather in George’s cap is that the character “narrative” that followed him from Pittsburgh appears to have stayed there.
There have been hardly any on-field penalties aside from Week 1, and off the field? Pickens has been sensational.
For me, it is a no-brainer to bring Pickens back, whether on the franchise tag or via a long-term contract, and it appears that CeeDee feels the same.
