Cardinals predicted to make major NFL Draft trade with Dolphins

The Arizona Cardinals are currently scheduled to be on the clock with the No. 16 overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. While they could stand pat and snag a key piece for the future, the Cardinals also happen to be picking in a place where they could look to move up a few picks for a player they really love.

If Arizona can make a move up and pick up and grab the top player on their board, they should jump at the opportunity to do so.

Chad Reuter of NFL.com has predicted the Cardinals to do just that.

He has released a new four-round mock draft. In that mock draft, he has Arizona pulling off a major trade with the Miami Dolphins to move up from No. 16 to No. 13 overall.

With the No. 13 pick, he has the Cardinals selecting Texas Longhorns’ star offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr.

“The Cardinals ensure they beat the Colts to a premier offensive line prospect, moving up three slots in Round 1 by swapping their third-round pick for Miami’s late fourth-round selection. Arizona traded up for a versatile lineman in Paris Johnson Jr. two years ago, and Banks could play inside or outside as a rookie. (He could also move to tackle in 2026 if Jonah Williams departs as a free agent.)”

Bringing Banks in would be a great move for Arizona. He would become a long-term cornerstone of the offense and would help keep Kyler Murray upright and healthy. Banks would also help open up the running game even more.

Looking at the future, the Cardinals have quite a few great pieces in place. Adding a top-tier tackle at No. 13 would fill a major need for the future.

While it’s just an idea at this point in time, Arizona will certainly be a team to watch to move around in the draft. The Cardinals are not far off from being a playoff contender and they need to get aggressive and make the necessary moves to power themselves back into the hunt.

Banks could help them accomplish that goal.
