The St. Louis Cardinals are shaking up the roster with just a little over a month left in the regular season.
Although, as they sit at a 64-67 record, 17.5 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers and six games out of the NL Wild Card race, they are likely making preparations for the 2026 season at this point.
Nevertheless, the team made three roster moves Saturday afternoon.
The Cardinals Move Three Players Around
The Cardinals announced Saturday on the Cardinals Player Development X account that they would be transferring Edwin Nunez to Double-A, moving Jovi Galvez to the Palm Beach Cardinals, and Brandt Thompson to the 7-day injured list.
“RHP Edwin Nunez has been transferred from Palm Beach (A) to Springfield (AA),” the Cardinals announced. “RHP Brandt Thompson (AA) has been placed on the 7-day IL. RHP Jovi Galvez has been transferred from the FCL to Palm Beach.”
