Cal Raleigh has captured the baseball world’s attention with a magical season that includes all sorts of records and now 60 home runs and counting.
The Seattle Mariners’ superstar has set new records for single-season homers by a catcher, by a switch-hitter and by a Mariner.
The big year has also brought Raleigh’s girlfriend into the spotlight.
She was with him on the red carpet at All-Star Weekend, and maybe most intriguingly, she could really swing the bat, too.
Who is Cal Raleigh’s girlfriend?
Cal Raleigh’s girlfriend is named Hannah Shimek.
Shimek was a college softball star at Southern Oregon University.
SOU plays at the NAIA level, and Shimek won two national championships during her time in college.
Shimek, unlike her significant other, was a slap-hitting speedster.
As a senior, Shimek batted .423 and stole 34 bags. She hit one home run.
Shimek was born in Seattle and also played basketball at Inglemoor High School.
With Cal Raleigh winning the #HRDerby, quick shoutout to his significant other, Hannah Shimek.
She was a star in her own right at Southern Oregon University.
2-time NAIA national champion.
Second on SOU’s all-time hits list.
