Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan took time to praise his Bulls players prior to his Hall of Fame induction this weekend.
A multitude of present and former Donovan charges — including former two-time All-Star Bulls center Joakim Noah (who won two college titles with Donovan at Florida) and current Bulls Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, Matas Buzelis, Patrick Williams and Dalen Terry — were on hand for Donovan’s big day.
Chicago owners Jerry and Michael Reinsdorf were also in attendance. Jerry is himself a Hall of Famer thanks to his owning the franchise during its Michael Jordan/Scottie Pippen ’90s dynasty days.
Donovan just the latest Bulls figure to make the Hall of Famer
Bulls team president Arturas Karnisovas, the man whose hiring of Donovan likely represents his savviest Chicago transaction so far, also showed up for the ceremony.
While speaking with K.C. Johnson of CHSN, Donovan shouted out both the Chicago organization and the club’s players in attendance.

“The organization’s been great. I really, really appreciate Jerry and Michael and all their support, same to be said about Arturas and [team general manager] Marc Eversley,” the recently-extended Donovan said. “It’s been an unbelievable organization to work in.”

“I’m grateful that the players coming into probably their last time, last weekend before we start to all get back to Chicago to start to get ready for training camp… would take the time to come here and support me,” Donovan added. “But organizationally, and the people in the organization, it’s been a remarkable experience for me.”
Donovan owns a career 438-362 regular season record and a 19-27 playoff record through his 10 NBA seasons with the Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder. During his college stints as the head coach of Marshall and Florida, Donovan went 467-186 and won back-to-back NCAA titles for the 2006 and 2007 Gators.
