If the Milwaukee Bucks could get rid of Kyle Kuzma in a trade that would improve their team, it feels safe to say that Jon Horst would press that button.
However, it seems that it hasn’t come up just yet.
As the Bucks head into the season and the trade deadline, they may still be looking to make a move, but they’ll have to hope another team in the NBA will give up something that will help them in the long term.
Can Bucks land Kyle Kuzma?
In a recent trade proposal from Thomas Carelli of Sports Illustrated, the Bucks would accomplish just that in a deal with the Dallas Mavericks. The trade would move on from Kuzma and land two potential starters in Milwaukee.
Mavericks receive: Kyle Kuzma
Bucks receive: P.J. Washington, Naji Marshall
“The Bucks want to get rid of Kyle Kuzma. He is not an ideal fit for this Milwaukee team. Especially with Lillard gone, Giannis is going to be a massive usage player. He will run 1-5 and do it all. It is his show on the basketball court. What the Bucks need is a floor-spacer and third-pass shooter. In this trade, they get that for cheap, by their standards.
“PJ Washington is by no means an all-world player, but he is a floor-spacing power forward. Washington grabbed 7.8 rebounds per game in 2024, but he also made 1.6 three-pointers on 4.2 attempts per game. PJ Washington is a great scheme fit for the Bucks offense,” he wrote.

If the Mavericks were willing to give up P.J. Washington and Naji Marshall in a trade for Kuzma, Horst needs to answer that phone call, accept the trade, and hang up as soon as possible.
If the Bucks could get one of those players, even if they had to add a pick, this would be a trade that’s too good to pass up on.
