Bucks predicted to send Giannis Antetokounmpo to Thunder for young star in blockbuster trade

The 2025 NBA playoffs are heating up, but one of the biggest storylines has surprisingly emerged from the Milwaukee Bucks and their superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

After a heartbreaking early exit at the hands of the Indiana Pacers, thanks in part to a devastating injury to Damian Lillard and a stunning overtime performance from Tyrese Haliburton, the Bucks are left reeling.

With three straight first-round exits, there’s a lot of chatter about whether Milwaukee and Giannis might be heading for a split.

However, as per FanDuel Sportsbook’s prediction, the Oklahoma City Thunder could come up with a probable trade scenario.

If the blockbuster trade comes to fruition, the Bucks will receive Chet Holmgren, Cason Wallace, and Isaiah Hartenstein in exchange for the Greek Freak.  Additionally, they would also send the NBA Draft 2026 and 2028’s 1st round picks.

That sounds like too much of the draft assets going away, but if you’re getting Giannis in return for all of that, it’s worth the deal.

Thunder-Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo Mock Trade Looks Interesting

The idea of the OKC Thunder landing Giannis Antetokounmpo in a trade is enough to make any NBA fan’s heart race.

Pairing Giannis, one of the best players in the game, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams would definitely give the Thunder an edge.

But giving up promising young talents like Chet Holmgren and Cason Wallace might be tough for Thunder GM Sam Presti.

Though cutting off Holmgren would still need a good permutation and combinations, it wouldn’t completely strip the Thunder of their depth. Keeping key players like Lu Dort, Aaron Wiggins, and Alex Caruso means that the team would still have a solid lineup around the stars.

Plus, rookie Nikola Topic could step up and add even more support as he gets comfortable in his new role.
