The Milwaukee Bucks have had an eventful offseason thus far, retooling their roster around two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo in an attempt to remain competitive in a wide-open Eastern Conference.
After re-signing several key rotation players from last season and acquiring former rival big man Myles Turner, Milwaukee bolstered its backcourt by adding ex-Orlando Magic point guard Cole Anthony.
Anthony was involved in the trade that sent Desmond Bane to the Magic, landing with the Memphis Grizzlies. However, the Grizzlies already had ample guard depth and eventually finalized a buyout with the 25-year-old, who was originally set to earn $13.1 million in the 2025-26 campaign.
Following his buyout with Memphis, Anthony’s contract with Milwaukee has been made official. The North Carolina product signed a one-year minimum deal, according to Spotrac.

Anthony is slated to earn $2.67 million next season after five years of service in the NBA. He’ll look to revitalize his career on a prove-it deal following a career-worst 2024-25 campaign, during which he averaged 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists across 18.4 minutes per game in 67 regular-season appearances.
Kevin Porter Jr. is expected to operate as Milwaukee’s starting point guard, while Anthony will likely compete for playing time off the bench alongside Ryan Rollins.
Although Anthony has showcased his scoring ability at the NBA level, he has seen a steady decline in production since his career-best season in 2021-22. The point guard will provide the Bucks with another playmaker as he attempts to raise his stock ahead of unrestricted free agency.
