Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo makes Khris Middleton announcement amid trade rumors

The Milwaukee Bucks won’t soon forget the 2021 NBA championship they won, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton.

But that era has dwindled. The Bucks traded Middleton to the Wizards at the trade deadline, and now Antetokounmpo is involved in trade rumors.

There is some good news for Bucks fans, though. Giannis is still a huge fan of his former teammate Middleton.

A social media post recently asked whether Middleton’s No. 22 should be retired for the Bucks.

Antetokounmpo weighed right in, posting “1000%” with a goat emoji.

Middleton was a crucial second piece on the championship team. He definitely should have his number retired.

The Bucks acquired Middleton early in his career and somehow converted him into one of the great killer scorers in the NBA that ever really saw. Down the stretch of a game, it often felt like Middleton was automatic.

Maybe Giannis and Khris can reunite somewhere to continue their basketball journeys in some kind of lockstep that brings back some nostalgia of that 2021 glory.
