Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo is top trade target for Eastern Conference rival to shock NBA

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been a Milwaukee Buck for his whole career, but if some reports are true that could soon change.

Brian Lewis of the New York Post reported on Monday that Giannis “has been and remains Plan A for the Nets.”

Earlier this season, Giannis was on the record expressing concerns about his future with the Bucks.

“This is a thing that maybe some players make a mistake,” he said. “They stay in the place maybe too long.”

The Brooklyn Nets’ treasure trove of assets make them a prime candidate to strike if the superstar is unhappy in Milwaukee.

In November, Bill Simmons made a case for a fake trade that would send Giannis to Brooklyn.

“They have a sh–load of picks, they have Cam Thomas, Cam Johnson, Nic Claxton,” Simmons said. “They can just overwhelm Milwaukee with all these picks.”

“I think it makes sense because Milwaukee needs to get out of this and to me its either Brooklyn or Houston,” he added.

Simmons makes a compelling case and it seems the Nets would be on board with pushing their chips in on a deal. It likely comes down to if Giannis demands a trade or if the Bucks think they can get a king’s ransom.
