Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo drawing strong interest from a Western Conference team

Rumors surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo’s potential trade have dominated the offseason thus far. So far, speculation has been swirling about the Greek Freak’s future in Milwaukee. 

Reports have suggested that Antetokounmpo is open to playing for another team, and one Western Conference team reportedly showed strong interest.

The Athletic’s Kelly Iko reported that the Houston Rockets are interested in trading for the Greek Freak.

“Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo remains a target, team sources said, but there has been recent uncertainty in the past week on Antetokounmpo’s actual availability — not to mention the potential asking price Milwaukee would require,” Iko wrote.

The Rockets have a mix of young players, including Alperun Segun, Jalen Green, and Jabari Smith Jr., along with draft picks to facilitate a trade. 

Houston took a significant leap Last season, emerging as one of the top teams in the league and securing the second seed in the Western Conference with a record of 55-27. They were ultimately eliminated in the first round by the Golden State Warriors.

Acquiring a star like Antetokounmpo would instantly put them in conversation as a title contender like the Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets. 

Giannis remains one of the best players in the league. Last season, he averaged  30.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game.

The entire league is keeping a close eye on Antetokounmpo’s situation. The Bucks have expressed interest in retaining the two-time Most Valuable Player. It remains to be seen whether the  Bucks will move on from the face of the franchise.
