Bucks could reportedly hold free agency meeting with highly coveted NBA champion forward

The Milwaukee Bucks’ offseason moves have been centered around keeping their superstar happy, and another move could help secure at least one more year with the team.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future has seemed uncertain for quite some time now. While Antetokounmpo and the Bucks both seem fine with entering next season together, there is still some doubt about the two-time MVP’s willingness to stick around if he doesn’t feel like the team is championship-caliber.

While the deal to add Myles Turner could help, the Bucks might need one more big move to ensure Antetokounmpo stays. That move could be going after one of the biggest names remaining in free agency.

Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga has been in a strange spot with the team over the past couple of seasons, and he could soon work his way to another team. As a restricted free agent, the Warriors still hold all the cards, but The Athletic’s Anthony Slater recently reported that the Bucks are among the teams interested in his services.

Any potential deal would likely be a sign-and-trade, but simply getting Kuminga to pick the Bucks could be tough. However, Slater also reported that Kuminga could meet with potential suitors at Vegas Summer League if he is still on the market at that point.

“Kuminga and his agent, Aaron Turner, are in search of a situation where Kuminga will be a featured part of the core with the belief of the franchise and coaching staff behind him,” Slater wrote.

Considering Damian Lillard is gone and the Bucks could use another boost on the perimeter alongside Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee could be an ideal fit for Kuminga. Above all else, if the Bucks can simply get a meeting with Kuminga, simply playing with Antetokounmpo could be the selling point that lands the 2022 champion in Milwaukee.
