Bucks could pair Giannis Antetokounmpo with nine-time All-Star guard

The Milwaukee Bucks have made some massive changes this offseason, and they might not be done yet.

The Bucks shook up the NBA offseason on the second day of free agency when they unexpectedly signed Myles Turner away from the Indiana Pacers. To make that move happen, the Bucks also had to waive and stretch Damian Lillard and the two remaining years on his contract.

With Milwaukee trying to keep Giannis Antetokounmpo happy, these big decisions could be enough to get the Bucks back into the upper echelon of the Eastern Conference. However, they might need one last move to truly ascend back to contender status.

Why Russell Westbrook is a perfect fit in Milwaukee

In a recent Bleacher Report article, Andy Bailey presented the Bucks as a potential landing spot for Russell Westbrook. The nine-time All-Star and former MVP has bounced around since getting traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2019.

While Westbrook hasn’t found any long-term home since departing Oklahoma City, he has still shown an ability to be one of the most electric point guards in the league. While he will be 37 years old in November, Westbrook still could give the Bucks a perfect fit at point guard.

With the Bucks already planning to place shooters around Antetokounmpo, those same guys could also help Westbrook immensely. Add in Westbrook’s track record of setting up elite scorers throughout his career, and he can also make Antetokounmpo’s life much easier.

Although there will inevitably be concerns about Westbrook’s fit in Milwaukee, there is no doubt that the ideal version of Westbrook could push the Bucks into title contention.
