The Milwaukee Bucks’ offseason is filled with uncertainty, but a window might have opened for them to make an under-the-radar move.
Since losing to the Indiana Pacers in the first round, the Bucks have had to shift their focus to the offseason. While it appears that Giannis Antetokounmpo is sticking around, they could still lose some key players this summer.
Two of those key players are still around from the 2021 championship team and could leave a massive hole if they depart. Brook Lopez is set for free agency, and Bobby Portis could follow suit if he declines his player option.
While there is a reality where both players return to Milwaukee, those two could be gone if another team offers some bigger paydays than the Bucks could afford. With the possibility that the Bucks could be lacking inside, they might need to find some cheap options in free agency.
Among those options could be Toronto Raptors big man Chris Boucher. In a recent report from Jake Fischer, he noted that Toronto has made Jakob Poeltl off-limits in Kevin Durant trade talks and has interest in drafting another center in the first round.
That intel could spell out the end of the Boucher era in Toronto. With the Raptors seemingly ready to part with their versatile backup, the Bucks might be able to get him at a discount, considering his role has diminished in recent years.

In 50 games last season, Boucher averaged 10 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 36.3% from beyond the arc. Although those numbers might not seem good enough to be a starter on a playoff team, his skillset could thrive alongside Antetokounmpo.
Considering the Bucks might need to buy low on a big man if their guys walk this summer, Boucher could be the perfect fit as he looks to contribute to a winning team and potentially earn himself a big contract in 2026.
