Bryson DeChambeau-Donald Trump relationship: Explaining connection between golf star, U.S. president

Bryson DeChambeau’s rise to becoming one of the biggest names in golf has reached beyond the sport itself, all the way to the White House.

DeChambeau has developed a relationship with President Donald Trump, with both sides meeting on each other’s turf. That includes Trump hosting DeChambeau in Washington several times and then meeting him on the golf course for a few rounds.

Here’s a look back at the relationship between DeChambeau and Trump.

Throughout DeChambeau’s career, he has developed a relationship with President Donald Trump and Trump’s family, He also has various ties to the Trump organization.

“I am extremely honored to represent Trump Golf and have the relationship with the Trump Organization that I have,” DeChambeau said. “From Larry Glick, to Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., the entire team is always behind me 100%, and I am grateful for their support.”

When DeChambeau joined LIV Golf, he played a round of golf with Trump at LIV’s Pro-Am in 2022, along with Dustin Johnson and Eric Trump. Then, after DeChambeau won the U.S. Open in 2024, he celebrated with the Trump family.

Then, less than two months later, Trump joined DeChambeau for a round of “Break 50,” DeChambeau’s YouTube series where he attempts to break a score of 50 on 18 holes with a celebrity or content creator.

Most recently, DeChambeau joined other athletes like Triple H and Harrison Butker as part of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.

When did Bryson DeChambeau meet Donald Trump?

Dechambeau has met President Trump several times over the course of his career and Trump’s presidency. The golfer has celebrated both of his U.S. Open victories with the Trump family, as DeChambeau and Eric Trump specifically are close.

DeChambeau has also had a relationship with the Trump organization for most of his career, something that has grown as his relationship with the family has grown.

Bryson DeChambeau-Donald Trump ‘Break 50’ golf video

DeChambeau frequently invites celebrities and other content creators onto his “Break 50” YouTube show, and he featured Donald Trump in a video in July 2024. The hour-long video showed DeChambeau playing golf with Trump as they attempted to break 50 from the red tees.

The pair recorded the video at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
