Bronny James stats: LeBron’s son shows out with career-high 39 points in G League

Things are starting to click for Bronny James.

Less than a week after setting a new career-high in the NBA, the Lakers rookie was back at it in the G League. In a win over the Santa Cruz Warriors, James turned in a new G League career-high with a performance that has caught widespread attention.

In 38 minutes of action, James finished with a game-high 39 points to lead South Bay to a four-point win. With the performance, he outdid his previous G League career-best of 31 points set two months prior.

James did a little bit of everything Monday night, filling the stat sheet with 39 points on 66.7 percent shooting from the field. In addition to his scoring, James pulled down seven boards, dished out four assists, and snagged four steals.

The seven turnovers are important to acknowledge but are not uncommon for a rookie lead guard with high usage.

Unsurprisingly, his dad, LeBron James, was among the many to acknowledge him, writing “SMILE THROUGH IT ALL YOUNG [King],” complete with several emojis and a message to “KEEP GOING!!”

After experiencing some struggles during the NBA G League Showcase Tournament to begin the season, James has found his stride during the G League regular season. In 10 regular-season games with South Bay, James is averaging 22.4 points on 46.2 percent shooting from the field.
