Bronny James has spent his whole life as LeBron James’ son.
As an up-and-coming basketball player, that’s got to be impossibly difficult.
Bronny persevered, though, even overcoming a scary heart issue as a USC freshman.
He just completed his first NBA and G League season, and now he’s looking ahead.
Bronny spoke in an interview with Fox Sports recently, and the coolest part may have been Bronny’s perspective on his future.
He has just one goal for his NBA career, he said:
“That I belong, that’s all I’ve been trying to prove.”

Bronny certainly belonged, at minimum, in the G League in 2024-25. He averaged more than 20 points per game and dropped 39 on one night.
Late in the NBA regular season, he had a game in which he scored 12 points.
Bronny is a springy, active defender. His outside shot could still use work.
He doesn’t have his father’s overwhelming size, meaning his guard skills need to be that much better.
He’s still a work in progress after the stop-and-start freshman season at USC.
Bronny probably came to the NBA earlier than he would’ve if not for the chance to play with his dad.
But so far, Bronny has shown he’s not totally out of place.
Next, he’ll try to show everyone just how much he truly belongs.
