Brock Bowers injury update: Latest news on Raiders star’s status for Week 2

The Las Vegas Raiders are hoping to have star tight end Brock Bowers available for the Week 2 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Bowers suffered a knee injury in the Week 1 win over the New England Patriots that forced his early exit and he did not practice over the first two days of this week.

While Bowers and head coach Pete Carroll are hopeful he will play, the fact that he did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday casts serious doubt on his ability to take the field on Monday night.

However, we got some encouraging news on Bowers at Raiders practice on Saturday. Here’s the latest update.

Brock Bowers injury update

UPDATE: The Raiders have posted their final injury report of the week and Bowers is listed as questionable. The injury report shows Bowers was limited, so that means he didn’t log a full practice all week.

“I felt fine… the knee brace was a little different but it was good to get out there with the guys,” Bowers said of practice on Saturday.

END OF UPDATE

According to Levi Edwards of Raiders.com, Bowers was taking part in practice on Saturday, although Edwards couldn’t say for sure if he’d be considered a full or limited participant.

“Brock Bowers is here moving around at practice, seems he’ll either be a limited or full participant today heading into Monday Night Football,” Edwards wrote.

The Raiders will release their final injury report of the week later in the day and it will include game designations for all players listed, including Bowers. Of course, the best-case scenario is Bowers is removed from the injury report.

The fact that Bowers is getting in any semblance of practice participation is a great sign for his availability for Week 2, even if he’s just limited.

Bear in mind, Bowers also gets an extra day to recover, so that greatly helps his chances of suiting up.

Bowers picked up where he left off in 2024 after a monster showing last week. The Georgia product and former No. 13 overall pick racked up a team-high 103 yards on five receptions in the 20-13 victory.

As long as he can stay healthy, Bowers should have another huge season in 2025 thanks to the massive upgrade Las Vegas has at quarterback in Geno Smith.
