Brock Bowers put up a huge Week 1 despite sitting some snaps early and missing the closing stages with injury.
It’s not clear whether the Las Vegas Raiders’ superstar second-year tight end will get a chance for an encore in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Bowers missed practice for a second consecutive day, sitting out Friday ahead of the Monday Night Football clash that closes out the week.
A knee injury is keeping Bowers out of action at the moment.

The Raiders will practice again Saturday in the slightly elongated week, and their final injury report on Saturday evening will likely tell a lot of the story for Bowers.
“They think they’re playing,” Raiders coach Pete Carroll said of Bowers and Elandon Roberts, “so we’ll see what happens, but they gotta practice through the week and make it through it.”
In the season-opening win over the Patriots, Bowers had 103 receiving yards before exiting the game.
Carroll initially called Bowers day-to-day, which still might be true, but he’s gonna need an improved day Saturday to have a chance of playing Monday.

The Raiders have a capable No. 2 tight end in third-year player Michael Mayer, but not having Bowers changes the entire offense, since he is in many ways the focal point of the passing game.
It’s not ideal for fantasy football players who have Bowers, either, because everyone else will have already played by the time the Raiders’ inactives come out Monday night. Mayer is the logical replacement for Bowers if needed in a fantasy league.
In the meantime, Raiders fans will hope the news gets better on Saturday.
