The Las Vegas Raiders have released their final injury report of the week and it has tight end Brock Bowers listed as questionable.
After not practicing at all on Thursday and Friday, Bowers was a limited participant on Saturday’s injury report which, on the surface, suggests the door is still open for him to sit.
However, head coach Pete Carroll offered a very optimistic outlook, saying Bowers “looked terrific” and is expected to play on Monday night.
Bowers spoke to reporters after practice and said he “felt fine” during his first practice action of the week and noted that he was sporting a knee brace.
“I felt fine,” Bowers said. “The knee brace was a little different but it was good to get out there with the guys.”
Despite his lack of practice participation, there was always optimism that Bowers would suit up. After tweaking his knee in last week’s game, Bowers revealed he could’ve gone back in but the Raiders didn’t let him.
Adding to that, the star tight end had an extra day to get right thanks to the Raiders playing the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night.
Bowers was a monster in Week 1, reeling in five catches for 103 yards. There was no acclimation period with Geno Smith, who showed instant chemistry with his best pass-catcher in their first NFL game together.
At this point, the only thing that can stop Bowers is an injury and, thankfully for both fantasy football owners and Raiders fans, that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen this week.
